Things that I love:
Russ, my kids, hot baths in big tubs, sexy shoes, kitchen gadgets, wrapping the kids in a warm blanket, pies, sleeping in, Christmas, having babies, cooking, fall & spring, walk in closets, church, chocolate dipped strawberries, the forth of July, watching a sleeping baby, decorating, flowers, good books, chocolate fondue, Thanksgiving, pretty music, hugs, a warm comfy bed, soup, fresh baked bread, the smell of babies, my grandma's house, Sunday dinner, prayers, cruises, certainty, double ovens, friends, birthdays, yummy smells, fireplaces, fuzzy socks, the fair, temples, bed and breakfasts, good neighbors, back rubs, family life and the list goes on and on...

Thing that I don't love:
sleeping alone, cold toilet seats, extreme weather conditions, public tantrums, Halloween, mice, horror movies, morning sickness, onions, bathing suits, ignorance, car repairs, hospitals, whining, angry music, dirty houses, phone solicitors, buyers remorse, cleaning blinds, mosquitos, the night life, credit card companies, skinny jeans & spandex, racism, taking out the trash, people who are mean to children, animals and the elderly, bad hair days, stains that won't come out, trashy reality shows, the need for money and I'm sure there would be more if I sat here long enough, but let's not dwell on that.

  1. It is fun to get to see all your likes (well most) and dislikes. Funny how many things we have in common. I don't think I'd be able to name them as well as you did though.

  2. This post made me laugh. We really were meant to be friends because we have so much in common!

Surprise!

Sometimes life throws you a curve ball, and it usually happens just when you think you've got things figured out.    Way back when I was praying about having a third child, the number 4 kept coming to me. I laughed and told God that He would need to send twins to get Russ to agree to that number, so part of me was a little apprehensive going into our first ultrasound with Z, but alas there was only one of her so I kind of forgot about the number and moved forward... until that day when the number came back.  Zoey wasn't even a year yet and the feeling came, there was one more. Russ did not feel the same but I used every bit of convincing power within myself, and after many arguments and discussions, he buckled. He gave me 3 months to get pregnant, if it didn't happen he would get his vasectomy. I gladly took what he was willing to give and trusted that God would send this baby that He had promised within the conditions Russ had reluctantly agr...

Gains and losses

2024 was a lot. Truthfully, I’m not even sure where to start, but it has been a whirlwind.   I suppose it would be best to start with my gains, most importantly I gained a daughter-in-law! In my last post, I mentioned Hayley, The love of Taevin‘s life. They spent the first year of Taevin‘s college experience in Cedar city together, But as their relationship progressed, and there was talk of marriage, they decided to come home and make those future plans a priority. It was fun having Taevin home from college, for the first month or two he was so full of gratitude for the luxuries of home, I guess being on your own for a while makes you realize how good you have it when mom is around. Anyway, they came home at the end of April and Taevin started planning his proposal. Russ and I took him to a local jeweler who was fantastic! Instead of just creating one ring, he made three just for Taevin! He wanted to make sure everything was perfect and that Hayley was getting exactly...

Well, we finally did it! We had a baby, and she is absolutely beautiful!   As per the usual with this entire journey, nothing went according to plan, but Mac and Katy are now holding their beautiful little girl which, makes it all worthwhile.     At 46 years old, the pregnancy was difficult. I suppose I should’ve expected it to be that way but I just assumed I had the same resiliency I did 12 years ago, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. My body has been through a lot during this process, and I definitely felt it through the entire pregnancy, but the baby was healthy and thriving and that’s what mattered the most.     On June 27th I started having weekly appointments. Everything looked great that day, but by the time I went back on July 2nd things had taken an interesting turn. I had been having contractions for a few weeks, but over the last couple of days they had increased in intensity and frequency, still I didn’t think too much of it, but ...
